EXECUTION OF SHAHEED-E-AZAM BHAGAT SINGH (Some glaring facts) 2024

- Today I was feeling very sad, aggrieved and amazed to learn some new and stunning facts about the most condemned but avoidable execution of SHAHEED-E-AZAM Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. This trio was hanged in the prime of their lives one day in advance in Lahore. Bhagat Singh was 23 years, 5 months and 26 days’ old when the trio was executed on March 23, 1931.
- In this context we should ever remain indebted to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya — A great Hindu leader and founder of Banars Hindu University who sincerely tried to save the trio from the clutches of gallows. He filed a Mercy Petition and forwarded it to Lord Irwin — The then Governor General and viceroy of India to stop the hanging of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Lord Irwin agreed to the request but at the same time he wanted a copy of the consent of Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Nehru to be attached with. Sh. Malviya Ji talked to Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Nehru about this but unfortunately both the leaders remained silent and thus they declined to give their consent to save Sh. Bhagat Singh and his associates.
- The reason of their denial was obvious and could be well presumed — Bhagat Singh was being highly acclaimed and becoming fast popular among the Indian masses. Hence both these top congress leaders were averse to the idea of granting pardon to Bhagat Singh and his associates. As per statement of Lord Irwin, congress leaders could easily save the precious lives of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev but unfortunately they were busy in saving their own interests. - Later on the same nefarious policy, attitude and mindset were adopted by the stalwarts of the congress in the case of our beloved leader and great freedom fighter Netagi Subhash Chandra Bose.
- Besides that the Jailer of Lahore jail — where Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were lodged — himself wrote a letter to Gandhi Ji expressing apprehensions of riots in case this trio was hanged. Reprimanding the Jailer Gandhi Ji wrote back — “You do your work nothing will happen”.
- Even after his retirement, Lord Irwin himself said in London that if Nehru and Gandhi had appealed even once to stop Bhagat Singh’s execution, we would have certainly cancelled his execution. MIND-BLOWING INCIDENTS
1. At the time of his execution the Jailer provided a piece of black cloth to Bhagat Singh to cover his face. But being resolute and self-conscious Bhagat Singh refused to cover his face and threw scornfully that cloth away.
2. About 65 year have passed, Govt of Punjab had arranged a function in Patiala to honour PUNJAB MATA Vidyawati — Mother of martyr Bhagat Singh. It was just a coincidence that I was also in Patiala at that time hence I also attended that function. I clearly remember, there was a large gathering of people. Some of them wanted to touch the feet of Punjab Mata to pay respect. I also stood in the queue and touched the feet of Punjab Mata and paid my respect. I was lucky, it was indeed a rare opportunity for me. I still cherish the sacred and sweet memories of that incident

Truly speaking, Bhagat Singh was not an ordinary man. He was a charismatic Indian revolutionary who was highly fluent in many different languages like French, Swedish, English, Arabic, Hindi and Punjabi. He was, of course, the jewel of Indian freedom struggle.

शहीद-ए-आज़म भगत सिंह की फाँसी (कुछ चौंकाने वाले तथ्य)
आज मैं शहीद-ए-आजम भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव की सबसे निंदनीय लेकिन टाली जाने वाली फांसी के बारे में कुछ नए और आश्चर्यजनक तथ्य जानकर बहुत दुखी, व्यथित और चकित महसूस कर रहा था। इस तिकड़ी को उनके जीवन के अंतिम पड़ाव में एक दिन पहले ही लाहौर में फाँसी दे दी गई। 23 मार्च, 1931 को जब तीनों को फाँसी दी गई तब भगत सिंह 23 वर्ष, 5 महीने और 26 दिन के थे।
इस संदर्भ में हमें हमेशा पंडित मदन मोहन मालवीय का ऋणी रहना चाहिए – एक महान हिंदू नेता और बनारस हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय के संस्थापक, जिन्होंने ईमानदारी से तीनों को फांसी के चंगुल से बचाने की कोशिश की। उन्होंने दया याचिका दायर की और भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव की फांसी को रोकने के लिए इसे भारत के तत्कालीन गवर्नर जनरल और वाइसराय लॉर्ड इरविन को भेज दिया। लॉर्ड इरविन अनुरोध पर सहमत हो गए लेकिन साथ ही वह श्री गांधी और श्री नेहरू की सहमति की एक प्रति भी संलग्न करना चाहते थे। श। मालवीय जी ने इस बारे में श्री गांधी और श्री नेहरू से बात की लेकिन दुर्भाग्य से दोनों नेता चुप रहे और इस तरह उन्होंने श्री को बचाने के लिए अपनी सहमति देने से इनकार कर दिया। भगत सिंह और उनके साथी. bhagat singh execution of shaheed-e-azam
उनके इनकार का कारण स्पष्ट था और अच्छी तरह से अनुमान लगाया जा सकता था – भगत सिंह को अत्यधिक प्रशंसित किया जा रहा था और भारतीय जनता के बीच तेजी से लोकप्रिय हो रहे थे। इसलिए कांग्रेस के ये दोनों शीर्ष नेता भगत सिंह और उनके साथियों को माफ़ी देने के विचार के ख़िलाफ़ थे। लॉर्ड इरविन के कथन के अनुसार, कांग्रेस नेता भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव के बहुमूल्य जीवन को आसानी से बचा सकते थे लेकिन दुर्भाग्य से वे अपने हितों को बचाने में व्यस्त थे। यह जानकर दुख होता है कि वे अपना सर्वोपरि कर्तव्य निभाने में बुरी तरह विफल रहे। bhagat singh execution of shaheed-e-azam
बाद में वही नापाक नीति, रवैया और मानसिकता कांग्रेस के दिग्गजों ने हमारे प्रिय नेता और महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी नेता जी सुभाष चंद्र बोस के मामले में भी अपनाई।
इसके अलावा लाहौर जेल के जेलर – जहां भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव बंद थे – ने खुद गांधी जी को पत्र लिखकर इन तीनों को फांसी दिए जाने की स्थिति में दंगे होने की आशंका व्यक्त की थी। गाँधी जी ने जेलर को फटकार लगाते हुए लिखा – “तुम अपना काम करो, कुछ नहीं होगा”।
यहां तक कि अपनी सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद लॉर्ड इरविन ने खुद लंदन में कहा था कि अगर नेहरू और गांधी ने भगत सिंह की फांसी रोकने के लिए एक बार भी अपील की होती, तो हम निश्चित रूप से उनकी फांसी रद्द कर देते। लेकिन भगत सिंह को फांसी देने में हमसे ज्यादा जल्दी गांधी और नेहरू को थी.
होश उड़ा देने वाली घटनाएँ
1. फांसी के समय जेलर ने भगत सिंह को अपना चेहरा ढकने के लिए काले कपड़े का एक टुकड़ा प्रदान किया। लेकिन दृढ़ और आत्म-जागरूक होने के कारण भगत सिंह ने अपना चेहरा ढकने से इनकार कर दिया और तिरस्कारपूर्वक उस कपड़े को फेंक दिया।
2. लगभग 65 वर्ष बीत चुके हैं, पंजाब सरकार ने पंजाब माता विद्यावती – शहीद भगत सिंह की मां – के सम्मान में पटियाला में एक समारोह का आयोजन किया था। यह महज़ संयोग था कि मैं भी उस समय पटियाला में था इसलिए मैं भी उस समारोह में शामिल हुआ। मुझे अच्छी तरह याद है, वहां बड़ी संख्या में लोग जमा थे. उनमें से कुछ पंजाब माता के चरण छूकर सम्मान देना चाहते थे। मैं भी कतार में खड़ा हुआ और पंजाब माता के चरण छूकर प्रणाम किया। मैं भाग्यशाली था, यह वास्तव में मेरे लिए एक दुर्लभ अवसर था। उस घटना की पवित्र और मधुर यादें मुझे आज भी याद हैं.
समारोह में मौजूद सभी लोगों की आंखों में आंसू थे और वे प्यारे भगत सिंह के बचपन, शिक्षा, व्यवहार और वीरतापूर्ण कार्यों के बारे में उनके द्वारा दी गई दिलचस्प कहानियों और विवरणों को ध्यान से सुन रहे थे।
सच कहूँ तो भगत सिंह कोई साधारण आदमी नहीं थे। वह एक करिश्माई भारतीय क्रांतिकारी थे जो फ्रेंच, स्वीडिश, अंग्रेजी, अरबी, हिंदी और पंजाबी जैसी कई अलग-अलग भाषाओं में अत्यधिक निपुण थे। निस्संदेह, वह भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के रत्न थे।
