Maratha quota activist, Manoj Jarange Patil on Thursday announced a 9 day Statewide tour from November 15 while urging Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to expedite the process of giving Other Backward Classes (OBC) certificates to all Marathas in Maharashtra.
Speaking from a hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar he said that he would commence his tour from Kolhapur to seek the blessings of the Maratha community and end it in Shevgaon (in Ahmednagar district) on November 23.
He urged his supporters to not take any money for the agitation, and to remain united till the government delivered the quota.
Body of missing Delhi trekker brought to Himachal’s Kullu…
The body of missing trekker Shiv Roy a 30 yearold lawyer from Delhi, was brought to Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district on Thursday, police said.
Roy had slipped and fallen into the Parvati river in Kullu while trekking on November 4.
“The trekker’s body was handed over to the family members after postmortem,” Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma said.
Roy, who was trekking along with a guide and porter, had fallen into the river at Potraghat while crossing a narrow stretch on his way back from Mantalai Lake.
His body was spotted near the bank of the river about 2 km away.
